Bikers Corner
In the 'Arms' we have many people who ride motorcycles for fun. We have got together as a group of bike enthusiasts of all ages
who enjoy evening and weekend rides. Together we go as far as Europe for rallies ... in 2009 it was Holland.
We call ourselves CAOS ... Crayford Arms Out Siders. Our aim is to have fun and raise cash for charity. So if you have a
cruiser, sports bike, roadster or trike feel free to join us.
CAOS Wootton Bassett 2011
This year we were represented by Terry and Lyn and she said "... it took her breath away" It doesn't matter how many of these
runs you do, you still end up with a lump in your throat, a tear in your eye and pride in our armed forces. Photo's show just how many of us still care.
Sky News Video here.
Please note: We will be doing the next Afghan Heroes run on Sunday 14th August 2011. Run starts at Ebbsfleet and ends at Manston. See in pub poster for details.
Towrags Rally, I.o.W, July 2011.
A motley crew of 7 bikes, 3 cars, 1 trike and 2 vans started off on their trip to Southampton. This went remarkably smoothly
with everyone arriving on time at the docks. The ferry trip was smooth helped along by plenty of sun and an on-deck BBQ.
Dave celebrated his birthday on saturday so everyone helped him over-celebrate friday night / saturday morning and judging by the
looks on everyones face and the excess of headaches they had all succeeded. Mind you the shorts he was wearing at the time
were not a good idea (photo to follow).
The Towrags organised a ride out on the saturday which we all attended. The island is a beautiful place and the roads and lanes are good biking
territory. During the hour that the ride took we passed along the coast line, over the moors and spiralled round the hills ending up
at the 'Old Water Mill' at Calbourne. We left the mill seperately from the rest of the riders and went to the railway
station at Havenstreet which has a preserved steam railway. On this day they were having a 1940's exhibition.

Some of us even went for a train ride, not Ghengis obviously.
Most of us then went off to the Sloop Inn at Wooton Bridge for their wonderful carvery. The weather here was so good and with all the sailing
ships in the estuary we could have been in San Tropez. Eon took some fantastic photos of the various bikes.
We then all returned to the rally site and it was a very contented bunch of rallyist sitting around chatting and watching the sun go down.
The evening entertainment was supplied by the all (normally) girl group Alma Boobies, a very good hard rock cover band.
Much ale was quaffed and much bollox was talked until the early hours of sunday morning.
Sunday morning arrived far too early. The Towrags rally is over so everyone was packing up and getting ready to go ...
except for most of the CAOS crew. We had permission to spend another day on-site so off for another ride we did go.
Sandown then Shanklin with an ice cream break. Then onwards and upward to Godshill via Ventnor. Ghengis led the way navigating using
the Isle of Wight bus route map. One day he'll invest in a Tom Tom. Thanks to the wonderful weather we are now all sporting a, er, 'healthy' red glows.
Back to the site with loads of BBQ stuff which Tony and little Tony cooked for us, music supplied from a car stereo.
The rest of the evening was spent, yes you guessed it, quaffing beer and talking bollox.
Monday morning all packed and ready to go. A good ferry crossing and an easy ride home.
Finally, we'd like to thank the Towrags for a wonderfull summer rally. See you all next year.
